A new Chanel Earrings disposable shoe is set to banish end-of-night agony for foot-weary women.
The Solemate ( a super-comfy line in foam footwear ( will be handed out in pubs and clubs so that revellers can kick off their dancing shoes as they head for the exits.
The slinky slippers look set to become the party season's must-have item and will fit into the smallest of handbags.
A group of students saw a gap in the market after falling victim to a series of stilleto-related mishaps.
Newcastle University business school marketing and management student Adele Hopper, 19, said one too many nights walking home in bare feet convinced her of the idea.
Adele, of Exmouth Street, Sunderland, said: "One day I came into uni complaining about my feet because I'd been out the night before and had walked home barefoot and my feet were in agony.
"Everyone was laughing at me. We were discussing what we should do for our project, then inspiration struck.

"It is worst at the end of a night when you have been dancing and still have to walk home or stand waiting for a taxi.
"And it can be dangerous ( our research showed each woman in the UK took on average 19 days off a year suffering from some kind of foot related injury.
"We decided you should be able to buy a pair of cheap, portable safe shoes to wear instead ( with a bag in which to carry home your favourite party shoes." Adele's fellow second year students Christopher Sheard, of Richmond, Amarjeet Sandhu, of Fenham, Newcastle, and Simon Withington and Michelle Hinds, both of Sunderland, all 19, got to work.

embroidered patches said: "We have improved on a design of safety slippers similar to what you get in hospital and have made them more colourful, comfortable, and safe.
"We have even designed a pair decorated with sequins, so the girls wearing them won't have to forsake fashion completely."
The shoes, made from two pieces of synthetic foam, cost pounds 2 from the students' website
Once they gain a sponsor the shoes will be sold in clubs and pubs.
